The main problem that commonly occurs when people begin buying their own tools, such as wire crimpers, is that those types tools comes in a variety of sizes for different jobs. The same issue happens when you buy a set of metric measurement ratchets or wrenches, but the task requires a set of standard measurement tools. This is made worse when looking at wire crimpers because they not only come in different sizes, but there are also a variety of types that can help or hinder a project. The most basic wire crimpers are used for simply cutting and stripping wires. There are also more specialized types of crimpers which are used for different applications, such as crimping together different sizes and types of data or cable couplers. Data and coaxial cables typically become vastly more complex since they often contain several layers of wires, some of which need to be stripped back, and others that need to be crimped. For this reason, is is very important to know what to look for when selecting the right pair of wire crimpers.
There are basic questions to begin asking before choosing a pair of wire crimpers for any project. Firstly, and most importantly, the type of wire or cable to be crimped will largely dictate what style of crimpers to select. Secondly, the thickness, or gauge, of the wire will determine if a heavy duty pair is needed or a light-weight pair will do the job. When selecting a heavy duty pair of wire crimpers, it is critical to make sure that both the crimping mechanism and the blade for cutting the wire are of high quality to prevent them from chipping. Some tools offer a mechanism for easily changing out parts as they get chip or get dull, which is important to look for because it is always nice when they last for more than one job.
As is true with most things in life, it is important to remember that you will get what you pay for. When searching for the best pair of wire crimpers, every project is different, however typically higher cost means higher quality. Lastly, when a pair of crimpers will be needed for serveral years of use, it is usually a good idea to check if it can crimp and cut different varieties of wires. The most common types of multi-crimp tools are used to support a variety of RJ-style connectors and different types of data cables. Lastly, when a pair of crimpers will be needed for the long haul over serveral years of use, it is also a good idea to see if it can cut and crimper different types of wires.

If you want to buy Coaxial Cable you'll find some great offers below.
Is there any wireless technology to receive signals from LNB to satellite receiver instead of coaxial cable?
I want to connect my satellite receiver and LNB thru wireless, since I dont have the facility/place to put coaxial cable right from the roof till my floor in a high rise apartment. Can any one help me, if there is such technology?
The LNB need a power supply which is in the receiver so 2 wire must go to LNB.Signal and power supply for the LNB go on the same coaxial cable so you can't use a wireless device between the receiver and LNB!!!!

Ever been three and a half thousand miles from home and felt an overwhelming urge to know what your local weather was like? Is your dog sitting in the rain? Have you even been desperate to know what your favorite regional new station has to say about your football or baseball team? Sad I know, but for all of you who absolutely have to know the answers to these questions a stroke of sheer genius recently arrived in the form of the Slingbox from Sling Media.
Over the last couple of years several ideas that allow remote TV viewing have hit the market. Most notable of these was the eternally clever LocationFree TV from Sony, which is arguably the granddaddy of all home-TV-to-internet-broadcast systems available. Unfortunately SonyÂ’s idea was flawed as you were forced to carry a book size LCD screen with you wherever you went. This device contacted the base station back at your house via the Internet and BAM! TV anywhere you wanted it. As the entire solution was proprietary it was not possible to make use of your laptop or a friends PC to view your LocationFree TV base station.
This and several bandwidth related issues have been resolved with Sling MediaÂ’s solution. Simply connect the Slingbox to your home entertainment system, stereo system, satellite or cable receiver then using the onboard RJ45 connector connect it to your Internet connection. Note that the device requires a network connection that will provide it a DHCP assigned IP address, which most home networks have; if your home network gear is new enough the Slingbox will configure itself and the network up using UPnP. Software installation was brief and painless, and required me to answer a few basic questions before my system was on the air.
The Slingbox allows you to actually control independent devices that you connect to it; you can turn your VCR on or off, change channels on your cable receiver and even change radio stations on your stereo to suit your viewing/listening preferences. Unfortunately only one person can use the device at a time, which is a slight drawback in my opinion. It can also be connected to your TiVo for instant replay or watch your prerecorded programming at your hearts content from your hotel room.
In conclusion, this product is a must for anyone incapable of completely detaching themselves from their lives while away from home. It is very reasonably priced, coming in at around $200, simple to configure and use and very simple to locate from anywhere in the world. Picture quality is surprisingly good and the sound quality is great. You can even try it wirelessly from your couch!
Two thumbs up.
Tech notes:
· The biggest issue that I encountered was getting the Slingbox through my firewall. The device requires NAT/port forwarding on TCP ports 5001 and 5678 and UDP 5001. If you run a firewall expect to have to do this.
· You can choose to use different ports during the setup wizard if you so desire.
· The Slingbox communicates with a location server on the Internet, sending its IP address in a 36 character encrypted string called a Finder ID. Write/copy this Finder ID down as you will need it to locate your Slingbox when you are on the road.
· If you are lucky enough to have a static IP address at your house you can use it to find your Slingbox instead of the Finder ID.
· The software must be installed on all devices that you plan to use to connect to the Slingbox at your house, but can be downloaded from Sling Media’s site if you forget the CD at home.

Most good audio cables consist of an oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductor, which passes signals perfectly with minimal signal loss. Many cables also include two separate shields — one made of braided copper, to guard against RFI, and one made of foil, to guard against EMI — so that no annoying buzzes or "pops" are introduced into the signal. A digital video connection will give you the best picture quality when you're hooking up a high-quality digital source, like a Blue-ray player or high-def cable box to your HDTV.
Cables like High-Definition Multimedia Interface consents the video signal to remain in digital form all the way to the screen. This will help you to avoid the slight picture collapse that can come with translating the signal from digital to analog, and back. These cables can carry standard-definition and high- definition digital video signals, as well as 2 to 8 discrete channels of digital audio, depending on the capabilities of the source component. Most HDTV tuners, HD-ready TVs, DVD players, and Blue-ray Disc players now come with at least one HDMI terminal. HDMI cables are also backwards-compatible with the older digital video connection.

Articles and News about RCA Cables
All major electronic instruments in audio video home entertainment sector need cables in one form or other for simple purposes like connectivity. There are many types of cables used in such instruments, some of which are also acting as converters. Digital video encoders/decoders are also embedded in some special cables.
Technically, a cable is medium of transmitting data over long distance without significant loss. Loss or distortion is one of the prime characteristics of determining quality of cable. A cable is made of three parts- conductor, shield and connector. A connector is visible part of cable that is seen at both ends which is inserted in some form of plug. Shield is outer cover of cable that is designed to protect inner core which consists of vital conductor. Shield is generally made of plastic. Conductor is the most important part of cable which is responsible for data transmission.
Consumers should check important characteristics of cables before buying them. Form factor, noise reduction are the two most important factors that needed to be considered before choosing appropriate cables. Compatibility should also be considered before buying these cables as not all cables are compatible with electronic gadgets due to difference in connectors.
Digital audio cables are mostly required with multimedia devices such as DVD players and Blu-Ray players. These cables are provided with SPDIF connectors that are essential in high definition video stream transmission. There are two wide types of digital audio cables- optical cables and coaxial cables. While coaxial cables are pretty similar to regular analog RCA cables, they are capable of transmitting digital audio signals at high speed. Stereo audio cables are made of coaxial cables. For high speed data transmission, optical cables are capable of high speed data transfer.

How do you connect a BNC cable to your computer?
thnx for the quick reply and i want to connect a wireless antenna to my computer
To what on your computer?
The only connections you have on the PC are, usually, 3.5mm stereo jacks for line in and line out, and a 3.5mm mono jack for microphone in.
A BNC connector can't carry a stereo signal so there's little point in thinking of using it for line in/out.
Which leaves the mic in socket.
You could use an adapter which enables you to connect the BNC plug to the 3.5mm jack.

Articles and News about BNC Cables
A transmission medium is required to carry information from a source to a destination. The information is usually a signal that has to travel a long distance. For this, the transmission media can be wired or wireless. In wired transmission, the signal travels along the cable from one device to another. But in wireless transmission the electromagnetic waves are transmitted without using a physical conductor. There are three types of cables such as.
1- Twisted pair cable
2- Coaxial cable
3- Fiber optic cableTwisted-Pair Cable
A twisted pair cable consists of two copper conductors, each one with its own plastic insulation and twisted together. One wire carries the signal and other is used as ground reference. The advantage of twisting is that both wires are equally affected by external influences. So the unwanted signals are canceled out as the receiver calculates the difference between signals in two wires.
This cable is of two types such as.
1- UTP (unshielded twisted pair)
2- STP (shielded twisted pair)STP cable has one extra metal shield covering the insulated twisted pair conductors. But this is absent in UTP cables. The most common UTP connector is RJ45.
The unshielded twisted pair cable is classified into seven categories based on cable quality. Category 1 of cables is used in telephone lines with data rate around 0.1 Mbps. Whereas Category 5 used in LANs having 100 Mbps data rate.
Performance of twisted-pair cable is measured by comparing attenuation versus frequency. Attenuation increases with frequency above 100 kHz.
These cables are used in telephone lines to provide voice and data channels. DSL lines and Local area networks also use twisted pair cables.
Coaxial Cable
Coaxial cable (coax) carries high frequency signals than twisted-pair cables. Coax has a central core conductor of solid wire enclosed in an insulator, which is covered by an outer conductor of metal foil. This outer conductor completes the circuit. Outer conductor is also enclosed in an insulator, and the whole cable is protected by a plastic cover.
These cables are categorized by RG (radio government) ratings. RG-59 used for Cable TV, RG-58 for thin Ethernet and RG-11 for thick Ethernet. The connector used in these cables is called BNC connector; it is used to connect the end of the cable to a device.
Though the coaxial cable has higher bandwidth, but its attenuation is much higher compare to twisted-pair cables. It is widely used in digital telephone networks where a single cable can carry data up to 600 Mbps. Cable TV networks use RG-59 coaxial cable. Traditional Ethernet LANs also use this cable.
Fiber-Optic Cable
A fiber optic cable transmits signals in the form of light. Optical fiber use reflection to guide light through a channel. It consists of two main parts: core and cladding. Core is denser compare to cladding and is made up of plastic or glass. Cladding acts as a protective cover to core. The difference in density of core and cladding is such that a beam of light moving through the core is reflected off the cladding, instead of being refracted into it.
Two modes of propagation of light are possible in optical fiber such as: multimode and single mode. Multimode fiber allows multiple beams from a light source move through the core. In multimode step-index fiber, the core density remains constant from the center to the edges. But in multimode graded-index fiber, core density gradually decreases from the center of the core to its edge. Graded-index fiber creates less distortion in the signal compare to step-index.
There are two types of connectors for fiber optic cables. The SC connector is used for cable TV, and ST connector used for connecting cable to networking devices. Attenuation in fiber optic cable is very low compare to other two types of cable. It provides very high bandwidth and immunity to electromagnetic interference. Light weight and greater immunity to tapping makes it more preferable cable.
Fiber optic cable is often used in backbone networks because of its wide bandwidth and cost effectiveness. Local area networks such as 100Base-FX network and 100Base-X use this cable. Also it is used by cable TV companies.
