What is an easy way to compress video off of a Kodak EasyShare Digital Camera?
I want to be able to e-mail them. What program do I need. They come off of the camera at 20MB and I can't get them much smaller. I am using a PC.
Video and audio formats are not compression friendly.
There are few things you can try/do.
1) encode the video into another format, reviews state it is in quicktime format, mpeg4. you might want to try converting it to divx. The file will still be pretty large, probably still too large to email whole.
2) which brings us to option 2, use winrar (or similar) to split the file into about 2MB files and send each file individually. The recipient will need winrar also to put the files back together.
3) find a file hosting site where you can upload, and email the recipient the URL and have them download it
4) turn your computer into an ftp server and email the ip address:port, and login credentials (if not anonymous) to the recipient.

Articles and News about Digital Easyshares
For most of us photography is not necessarily as much about being an art form as it is a way to preserve cherished memories and moments of our lives so we can go back and visit them again later. For that kind of purpose, a multi-function digital camera that has all the bells and whistles that you could ever want is overkill. And buying one could result in serious overpaying too as those kind of digital cameras are still very expensive.
But the average person just wants to be able to get great shots that they can enjoy with no muss or fuss. And if that describes you then you need to consider getting a compact digital camera for your photo needs. Here is why:
* You could get a compact film camera if you wish but why would you want to do that these days? Digital cameras will afford you so much more flexibility and control over the shots that you take. For instance, when you take a snapshot with a film camera, you just don't klnow how it's going to look until you develop the film. With a digital camera you can see what the shot looks like immediately and decide right away if it's a keeper, or if you need to just delete it and shoot all over again. What an important option to have at those special occasions that can't be redone again later like weddings, birthdays, etc.
* Compact digital cameras let you do so much with each image that you take that you just couldn't do with film. Of course, you can get scanned images of your film photos but you have to wait until the film is processed first and you have to pay extra for the processing and scanning. With a digital camera you just store the photos on a reusable media card and then pop it into a photo printer for printing, or you can also upload the photos to your home computer where you can play around with them until they are just the way you want in a photo editing program. After printing them out you can store them on your hard drive, transfer them to CDs or whatever you like. And best of all, because they are digital, they will never fade with time or how many times you make copies from those image files. Once all your files are uploaded, just wipe the camera card clean and start over again. How's that for easy and simple?
Here are a few recommendations that show up on many compact digital camera reviews by both photo websites and consumers alike:
* Fuji FinePix F10, Canon Powershot A510 & Canon Powershot A520, Olympus Stylus 800, and the Kodak EasyShare Z700.
All of these compact digital cameras produce excellent photo results and most of them have a good mix of features and options that would please the average digital camera user. And most are inexpensive units that won't break your wallet either.
So if you have struggled about making the switch to digital from film cameras, now is the time to finally let go of the old ways, and embrace the newer, better technology of compact digital cameras instead.

Introduction
Being somewhat of an exercise, health and nutrition nut, I am always on the lookout for fun and easy ways to improve one's lifestyle. I prefer to exercise outside in order to get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. However, the weather sometimes just does not cooperate. I enjoy playing video games but dislike the long hours of being in a sedentary position. So when I stumbled onto the Nintendo Wii gaming system a few years ago I was pleasantly surprised. I was very excited because I could now play a video game and get some much needed cardiovascular exercise at the same time. So I am going to share with you some of the games that will benefit you the most health wise and explain some of the systems, games and their costs so you can stay within your holiday budget.
Action Sports for Keeping Fit
Sticking to the action sports like boxing and tennis will really help with breaking a little sweat and getting your pulse rate up. The best and safest fat burning heart rate should be about 70% of your maximum heart rate. A heart rate monitor such as Polar will work great for this. But getting back to the games, Nintendo has a game for just about everything. Jut use a little common sense and pick the games with more sports action activities. Most of the sports games will work well for this.
Systems
Nintendo Wii is offered by itself in the basic system as well as bundled. Some of the bundles are the Deluxe, Advanced, Budget, School, and a basic system bundled with the Sports Resort. The basic system comes with the Wii Console, Wii Remote, Nunchuk Controller, Wii Sensor Bar, A/V Cables, Power Cord, and Wii Sports Game, which features Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Baseball, and Boxing. The cost is about $199.00. That will get you started.
Accessories
Once again Nintendo has not held back with the accessories. They have everything from skins for the controller to boxing gloves to pump shotguns and even a Wii fishing pole! But the accessories I would recommend are a second Wii Remote, Nunchuck Controller and Wii Sensor Bar. (All three work together functioning as a complete remote control.) The basic system only comes with one. Even though you can play multiple players, you have to pass the remote back and forth. Having two takes care of this and also allows you to play multiple players simultaneously.
Games
You can get lost in the amount of games that are out there. Baseball, basketball, hunting, fishing, surfing, skiing, and just about everything you can imagine including snow ball fights and managing a dog resort are available. Again, I recommend beginning slowly with the game Sports Resort (some bundles include this game) unless you are an expert gamer. If so, then go for the more advanced games, but make sure your selection will give you a workout! One other game that has all of the exercise enthusiasts excited is the Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board. It has a balance test, yoga, Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator, and even a calorie counter. I think the Wii Fit is a great way to add some variation to your exercise routine. The cost for the Wii Fit with Balance Board game is just under a hundred dollars.
Conclusion
Can you get some exercise playing a video game? Absolutely! Nintendo Wii, if used responsibly, can improve your physical health especially if you incorporate the Wii Fit in your exercise regimen. As far as costing you a bundle, choose your bundle wisely and don't go crazy over the hundreds maybe even thousands of games. Different bundles range from $199 to over $350. You can add games that average about $40 each. Have a merry holiday season and happy gaming!
