Home made WIFI antenna booster question for geeks?
I want to build this but there is a problem.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1859528/compact_wifi_superantenna/
He never explains how to connect the BNC to SMA connecter to the laptop. Does he use something to plug into the ethernet port? And I am using a Netgear WPN 511 wireless PCIMCI card. Any Help would be appreciated.
Also, does this help the card, or does it act on its own as it's own wireless type of card????
you need a pcmcia wifi card with an external antenna connection, the ones with no antenna connector like the netgear you have are no good

Articles and News about Card BNC
Separate Video cable is known as S-Video cable is an analog video signal that is used to carry video data as two separate signals namely luminance and color. This cable is different from the composite video which is used to carry picture information as a single lower quality signal. It is also different from the component video that carries picture information as three higher quality signals. The standard definition video is carried by the S-Video cable but, it does not carry the audio signal on the same cable.
The most common type of S-Video connector is 4-pin mini DIN connector. Some other S-Video connectors include 7-pin locking dub connectors which are used on professional S-VHS machines and the dual “Y” and “C” BNC connectors are used for S-Video patch bays. The fact is although the connectors are different; the Y/C signals for different types are compatible. The S-Video cable is not suitable for high definition video signals due to lack of bandwidth.
S-Video cable is widely used throughout the world. This type of cable is found in the household appliances like TVs, digital TV receivers, high-end video cassette recorders, game consoles, DVD players, DVRs and graphic cards. This cable has been replaced by the composite video and digital video standards such as HDMI and DVI. The conversion of this cable to the composite signal is easy so, many retailers of electronic products provide converter adapters for signal conversion.
The S-Video cables are also used if you wish to take the output of the computer to TV for business as well as home use.
