Has anyone seen the Manchurian Candidate (2004)?
I just watched the movie the Manchurian Candidate, 2004 version with Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, etc. I don't get the end. Can anyone help? I get that Mother (Meryl Streep) "hypnotizes" Marco to kill the newly elected president but does he? If so, does someone else kill the Mother or is it the same bullet? Then who are those other two guys they show at the end in the news report as being the killers? Are they the killers? And what's up with the security camera thing where the technician wipes out Marco to reveal that Libiermann guy who was thought to be dead? Please help, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.
Ok....here goes.....
They were both brainwashed by Manchurian Global to be part of this huge Cue to overthrow the government by installing the first privatly owned President.
The Son was going to be the new president, and Denzel was to be the shooter who would eliminate the oposing Candidate for President. but as we all know, it didn't work that way. Somehow, the son managed to convince Denzel to shoot him instead, and when Denzel was about to take the shot, the son positioned himself so that when the bullet went through him, it would kill his mother as well. (The Mastermind behind the whole thing.) And that's what happened with that.
As for the news report and the film......The government wanted to keep the situation top-secret, and in doing so...they errased all evidence that the 2 men were involved and blamed it on some random group for the shooting.
That's why they errased Denzel from the camera. To make the whole situation disapear. And they were successful.
