Bookmark our site script

Getting people to bookmark your page is an excellent way to build up visitor traffic over time. Although people can do this manually, by clicking on their favorites button in their browser, having a script on your page that can do it for them is a far better idea

The best reason for using this is that it's a 'call for action', not only making a direct request for visitors who find your site interesting to mark your site, but also giving them the facility to do so

The visible component of this script is represented on your page as a hypertext link, the text displayed can be customised to your choice, below is an example of how it could be used

and have easy reference to search engine optimisation articles from your favourites folder!

In order to install this script you will need to know a little about HTML, but other than that it really is a matter of copying the JavaScript code below and pasting it into your page where you would like the link to appear

To edit the above code to fit your site just replace the words YOURSITE (lines 6, 7 and 12) with the name of your site

The script will work with Explorer browsers as well as Netscape, although in Netscape the visitor is asked to press the CTRL+D keys, instead of being able to just press the hyper link. This is still a 'call for action' though which ever browser the visitor is using

If you do use this feature in your site then you should consider using it in conjunction with Favicon. This is a customised icon that gets displayed in peoples favorites when they bookmark your page
