Whats the difference between a battery charger and an ac adapter?
I need to buy a charger/ac adapter for my camcorder to get ready for the "big day" (36 weeks prego) and im not sure which item i need to purchase... i need to charge the battery but, the item that my fiance lost for the camcorder was the ac adaptor...same thing right? they look the same and perform the same duties correct? im confused..please advise!
Not *exactly* the same...
The charger you need depends on the make/model of your camcorder; having said that some can charge the batteries on the camcorder, others you have to take the battery off to charge it.
AC adaptors are usually simpler devices designed to power a device (camcorder or whatever) while it is being used.
Be careful not to buy an 'unregulated' adaptor because it may damage your camcorder - best to get the exact model that came with it when it was new.
Good idea to label it when you have bought it as they all look similar - prevents them from being used in the wrong place...
